Over Memorial day weekend we were, but where else?, the horse races! We decided to take our trailer this weekend since we have stayed in a hotel the past two weekends! Not that it was any cheaper with the price of diesel!, but my parents were taking their trailer too, and we thought it would be fun! My sisters and their families were coming up to stay one night too, so we were excited! We arrived on Thursday and stayed until Monday. My sisters came Friday and we went to the hotel to go swimming! (yes i know, Shad and I weren't "registered guests", but we stay there alot and my sisters were guests there so...well okay I can't justify it, but I won't tell if you don't!) So we had a blast! Despite the wacky weather, we had a good weekend, even if I forgot my camera for just about everything! Then on the last race of the weekend, Shad was on a horse that decided to head straight for the rail...what do you do, stay on and go thought the rail, or try to stop a horse that is on a dead run, and when it doesn't work bail? Needless to say he bailed, and I am glad! He knows all to well what can happen when you go through the rail. His dad used to ride and the same thing happened to him, only the horse went through the rail with him, and the rail broke and (graphic) went through the horses chest out it's shoulder and hit him in the face knocking out his teeth!! So luckily Shad bailed and is only a little sore! I keep telling him he is going to kill himself doing this, and he just says at least I will die doing something I love! (okay?) What do you do?? Then we headed for home first thing Monday morning to hear a little scratching in out fireplace.....bird? We got a sack put it in front of the fireplace and opened it up, no bird?... So Shad stuck his head in there and out came the bird! I would have taken more pictures, but I was screaming! It flew into my back door fell on the ground and Shad opened up the door and out it went! Then after that we headed up to the cemetery to take some flowers, we only got one picture because it was raining so hard! I hope you all had a fun weekend!!
