My word for today????

Acen is really growing up way to fast! He is cruising all over, pulling up on EVERYTHING, and now he's starting to walk along furniture!! Where did the time go?! Yes I know he's just a little over 8 months, but I don't remember Gracie getting so big so fast....well yeah I do because I still cannot beleive she is 5!To make things even sadder (is that even a word? if it is I think I misspelled it..) Anyways I was so sad today because he woke up from his nap and I could hear him in there going "DA DA DA!" What the? I am with this kid 24/7! Don't get me wrong Shad is great and all, but he is super busy and not home much, so I thought for sure if he was to yell for someone it would be me!! And maybe he didn't mean anything by it, it could have just came out...but he is really starting to understand a lot of things and he does say da da da when he sees Shad, and he yells "E!" at Gracie which I take as him yelling her name, but I have yet to hear a "ma, ma" directed towards me, or even a "Hey crazy lady who takes care of me!"....okay, maybe I am taking this a little too personal, but seriously! I am sure it's nothing, I know he is a ways from talking, but I love to hear those words and know that they mean it, or even understand what they are saying. I will patiently wait until that day, but until then I will take it as the da da meant "this is my word for today..".

I always thought it was unfair that the kids say Da Da first. I know it is easier for them to say, but come on. I agree with you all the way!!!

he is so cute. I agree that kids grow faster than we remember. elisha is into everything too. right now she is trying to help me type. i am going to start saying to her "mommy" everyday now!
by the way when they say da da da doesn't that mean they want dad to change them?

I agree it is a hard thing to hear when we are with them all the time. Olivia was my first baby to say moma, so that made my motherhood! But I do agree with Jessica, the nice thing about them saying it at 2 am in the morning is dad you can't let them down and not go get them, so there are a few (not many) perks of them saying dada first!
